Season Recap: E1's Thrilling Journey

This Year, Team E1 experienced an exhilarating season, featuring a total of 7 exciting events that showcased the skill and determination of our teams and drivers. Each event brought unique challenges and memorable moments, contributing to an unforgettable season.

Overcoming Engine Failure

One of the biggest challenges we faced this season was the unexpected engine failure that hit us during the debut of 'Sally', our 1992 Spec Miata, at the Time Trials National Tour @ Road America. It was a tough moment, but the team really stepped up, showcasing incredible resilience and teamwork. We quickly diagnosed the issue, and although our weekend was over, within 48 hours of returning to Indiana, 'Sally' had a brand new-to-her,1.6L B6ZE Engine Installed, hand-rebuilt in-house. This setback didn’t just test our technical skills; it also reinforced our determination to overcome adversity and keep moving forward. Sally's new engine powered her through 6 more events, without a single issue.

Exciting Developments This Season

This season has been a significant turning point for us, highlighted by the relocation and opening of our brand-new facility in Indianapolis. This state-of-the-art location is equipped with advanced technology and provides access to essential resources, creating an invigorating hub for our operations.

In addition, with an exciting expansion of our schedule, E1 made its way to the prestigious Autobahn Country Club in Illinois. This new track presented a unique layout and challenging conditions that truly put our skills to the test. The experience at Autobahn not only provided us with valuable insights but also enabled us to connect with a new audience and strengthen our relationships within the motorsport community. (And we managed to keep the car out of Million-Dollar Corner!)

Along with 'Sally', our 1993 Miata, 'Doug', returned to the track at Putnam Park, piloted

this time under the #24 by Noah Haines. Noah is an experienced motorist, having worked for high-level organizations, including Dallara. He piloted Doug to a first-in-class finish, solidifying both him and Doug in E1 Legacy. Doug will continue to be a valued chassis with E1, and Noah will continue climbing the ranks of racing within the SCCA, backed in full faith by the rest of the E1 Team.

All's Well That Ends Well

As the season comes to a close, E1 reflects on the challenges faced and the achievements celebrated. From overcoming engine failures to expanding our presence with a new location and exploring exciting tracks, this season has been a testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in motorsports. We look forward to building on this momentum in the upcoming season! Once again, thank you to the crew, Holly, Landen, Zach, and Noah, for making this possible.
